Rather, this is the place to put your phone away and savour the simple pleasures. The mountain view. A cold beer. Bread dumplings. Deep sleep. The gateway to the Dolomites
On foot to the Sciliar/Schlern – and from here, onwards to the Catinaccio/Rosengarten, Latemar, Sassolungo/Langkofel and Sassopiatto/Plattkofel, the Sella area, or even further. The Schlernhaus is a great destination for the first stage of your hut-to-hut trekking tour in the Dolomites. And when you return to civilisation after several days in the wild, our refuge in the Dolomites will be the well-deserved highlight of your hike with an overnight stay.
A special place for all who come
If you ask us, the Schlernhaus is one of the most beautiful mountain huts in the Dolomites! And we would know – after all, we spend a significant part of our lives here. We have offered all mountain enthusiasts a well-deserved rest, warm hospitality, and cosy accommodation on this ridge of the Sciliar/Schlern since 1976. And since 1999, the two of us, Silvia and Harald, have been the ones to delight with our friendliness, good food, cleanliness, and new ideas – before that, Harald’s parents, Hilde and Rudolf, lodged and fed intrepid hikers for more than 20 years. “I grew up here, and I carry on this tradition out of conviction. I continue to offer this space to rest and spend time because I enjoy beauty and know the importance of a cosy shelter in the event of sudden weather changes.” Throughout more than 140 years of history, our mountain hut in the Dolomites has remained true to its character as a convivial refuge.
