Mountain huts in South Tyrol: an overnight stay on the Sciliar/Schlern
If you are looking for mountain huts in South Tyrol for an overnight stay, the Schlernhaus is the place for you! Here you will find a comfortable place to spend the night – from a single room to a dormitory.
Important information for your stay
A reservation is required for your overnight stay at our mountain hut in South Tyrol! Simply send us an enquiry, book online or give us a call. We also ask for your understanding that we cannot guarantee you a specific room. We reserve the right to allocate your bed according to availability. Of course, we will try to take your wishes into account. As an overnight guest, please arrive at the hut by 5 p.m. at the latest. Dinner, drinks, and all other items from our menu will be charged separately. Don’t forget to pack your sleeping bag, towel, and indoor footwear.
Please bear in mind that our mountain hut is located at 2,457 metres above sea level and is not heated. That means that it can also get quite chilly in autumn. If you are staying with us from late summer onwards, you should pack the following items in your rucksack:
- Warm clothing
- Hat and gloves
- Thicker sleeping bag instead of the lighter sleeping bag liner
- Warm pyjamas
Rooms and beds
Honestly, who likes to share a room for the night with strangers? Nevertheless, this is common practice for overnight accommodation in many mountain huts in South Tyrol. Instead, in our mountain hut in the Dolomites, we have divided the formerly large dormitories into several smaller rooms:
- Four single rooms
- Eleven twin rooms
- Five triple rooms
- A four-bed room
- Three five-bed rooms
- Two six-bed rooms
- Two seven-bed rooms
- An eight-bed room
- A 14-bed dormitory
Amenities
All dormitories are equipped with comfortable beds and cosy wooden furniture. The beds in all rooms (except for the 14-bed dormitory) are provided with bed linen, pillows, and duvets. The other sleeping spaces are equipped with a covered mattress, pillow, and two blankets. A hut sleeping bag (sleeping bag liner) or, in spring and autumn, a warmer sleeping bag is mandatory here. Showers, toilets, and washing facilities are available. By the way, there is also a token-operated shower in the Schlernhaus, but only as long as the water lasts!
Dream panorama included
There are quite a few mountain huts in South Tyrol with overnight accommodation. But the Schlernhaus offers a few worthwhile advantages for a hike with an overnight stay:
- It can be reached via several different routes, for example, from the Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm or via the well-known Rifugio Alpe di Tires/Tierser Alpl.
- The shortest ascent takes a little under three hours.
- Its location is an ideal starting or ending point for multi-day hikes through the Dolomites – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
An overnight stay at our mountain hut in South Tyrol always includes a dream-like setting. Experience the incomparable interplay of colours at sunset or the radiant dawn of the new day in a seemingly boundless mountain world. If you are looking for a hut with overnight accommodation in South Tyrol, there’s no place like Sciliar/Schlern!
